It's always a challenge and in credible experience to play in one of the many projects of Maestro D'Rivera or Paq-Man as we call him.
This time we played in Veracruz and Xalapa Mexico with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa conducted by Maestro Carlos Miguel Prieto.
In the quartet besides me and Paquito we had Vince Cherico on drums and Edgar Dorante on piano.

Before the performance we went to buy ourselves some mexican traditional shirts for the performance.

Here we are with our matching mexican shirts.

Lionel Loueke Trio - Gilfema in Germany.
May 18, 2006.
Wow, what a week. We where supposed to spend a whole week in Gemany but some last minute cancellation forced us to take another gig in Sardinia, Italy. The whole thing involved some serious flying/driving/bussing and waiting, but at the end when we finally got to play it was all wirth it. Here below we are soundchecking for our last performance in Bremen, Germany in the Radio Bremen studio for a live/radio broadcast concert.

Ferenc Nemeth Trio in Hungary.
May 3, 2006.
Now at the end of an exciting week in Hungary with a project put together by drummer Ferenc Nemeth with me on bass and Mike Moreno on guitar.

This picture is from our last date of the tour in Budapest at the Godor Klub. We had a great time playing original pieces by each one of us in five different cities around Hungary. We also had some time to enjoy the local culture as you can see in the picture below where you’ll find us under the effect of Palinka (the local aquavite) with accompaniment by an incredible band of Gypsy musicians.

Lizz Wright Band in Scandinavia.
April 15, 2006.

Just back from a lovely tour of Europe with singer Lizz Wright. We were for most of the time in Scandinavia which considering where i was born I really enjoyed. In the picture above is the whole band including tour manager and sound engineer at dinner table for our ritual after show soup in Stavanger, Norway. Speaking of Norway, we took a boat ride between two of the cities we were playing and here below is the view of Bergen as we approach with the boat.

In Stockholm I had a little family time when 15 family members and friends joined us at Fashing Jazz Club. We also had a nice review in the paper as you can see below. Let me know if you need a translation!

Here’s one more picture from the tour, it’s taken during sound check and with me you see Marvin Sewell.
